But the answer I know you’re looking for is which model is better? While I would not call the differences between the two night and day, that does not change my opinion that the new 600Ms are better and the ones I would buy right now given the choice. Does that mean you need to rush out and upgrade your old 600Ms or that you made a mistake buying the older model? No, I don’t think so; especially if you are happy with them. They are both solid speakers. HOW DOES THE 600M II COMPARE TO OTHER SPEAKERS?

The same recordings came across with slightly less energy through the RP-600M II and the tonal balance was more accurate this time around. These are the speakers we directly compared to the new Klipsch 600M II. To find out just how the new 600Ms compare to other speakers, you’ll need to watch the video starting at 11:56. One of the things that Klipsch DOESN’T share with you is the fact that the crossover tuning has been tweaked with version two; along with the subtle changes in the speaker’s physical design by way of bracing, waveguide tweaks and voice-coil enhancements, it all adds up to a decidedly different sound signature for the speaker –if not the brand. One of my initial comments to Kristi when first listening to the new model was that it reminded me of how I felt going from the Heresy IIIs to the IVs, and how the new speaker sounded so much more refined than the outgoing model despite there being seemingly few changes. As with all equipment, aesthetics are very much a personal choice. To my eyes, the bronze-coloured woofer and horn tweeter look purposeful and have a professional studio monitor vibe, albeit with a touch of glamour. A magnetically attached cloth grill is provided if you'd rather the speaker appears more discreet, although for this review, they were not used. Here is another variant of Marantz, the PM7000N, which features a sleek design and powerful performance. This Marantz PM7000N has been praised by audio enthusiasts worldwide. There are four analog inputs, one analog output, one coaxial digital input, two optical digital inputs, and a USB-A input for easy connections. A range of speakers can be powered with the Marantz PM7000N amplifier, which features a versatile design.

The titanium dome tweeters feature LTS (Linear Travel Suspension) for a precise, low-distortion sound. The new vented tweeter housing further reduces distortion by reducing standing waves that can cause unintended pressure and dome movement. Put together, this tech gives you super-precise sound with enhanced detail. The treble is definitely brighter and those who are sensitive to a more aggressive top end might not agree with my assessment. The imaging is far superior to the older model and that contributed to my enjoyment of the loudspeakers in a significant way. One of the more neutral Klipsch speakers I’ve listened to and the data shows reasonable linearity. However, there is a treble boost starting around 8kHz. The sensitivity is 86dB @ 2.83v/1m, despite Klipsch rating this speaker at 94.5dB (using in-room, half-space conditions).

The Marantz PM6007 provides the best sound quality in its class and is capable of delivering 2 x 45W (8 ohms RMS, 20Hz - 20kHz), making it compatible with drive Klipsch RP-600M speakers. With independent volume and power controls, the Marantz PM6007 also includes a 3.5mm input to connect Android phones and laptops. The PM6007 is meticulously and masterfully tuned and comes with a high-quality DAC AK4490 for a cleaner sound. The binding posts have been updated with the plastic plate of the earlier version removed and the connectors are now mounted through the cabinet material itself which helps preserve the stiffness of the box. Additionally, the PMA-600NE amplifier has analog and digital input ports to connect external audio sources. The Denon PMA-600NE is an excellent home theater upgrade that won’t break the bank. The Denon PMA-600NE powers your speaker with 45 watts x 2 channels (8 ohms) and 70 watts x 2 (4 ohms), which is enough power to drive RP-600M speakers. The PMA-600NE also includes optical, coaxial, and phono inputs (connect CD players, Blu-ray players, turntables, and more).

Klipsch

I recommend turning the speaker about 20° out (facing out into the room) or using the speaker grille to help lower the high frequency tilt a bit. Chester Rice and E.W. Kellogg develop the first direct-radiating dynamic loudspeakers, based on principles that are standard-issue in most speakers made for domestic use today (footnote 1). The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-600M II speakers come with plenty of connectivity options that enable users to make customized and powerful audio setups. The rear panel of the speakers are equipped with dual input terminals, which can be used for Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping. Through this, you can separate the high and low frequencies into each cable and add more power and clarity to the sound. It also has audiophile-grade wiring and aluminum binding posts that support almost any kind of connection type. The On-axis Frequency Response (0°) is the universal starting point and in many situations it is a fair representation of the first sound to arrive at a listener’s ears. The Cerametallic woofer on these speakers is also of great quality. While it is lightweight, it is crafted to be rigid to makes sure that the audio fidelity is preserved over time. It also comes with a 70% larger voice coil for better power handling and improved linearity. Not only that, its aluminum shorting rings also contribute to the improved power handling and lower distortion.

Take Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde, for example. Brilliant album as it is, it's hardly a state-of-the-art recording even by mid-nineteen sixties standards. Dylan himself described it as “that thin, wild mercury sound”, yet the Klipsch presentation fleshes out the low end to give the overall sound more substance. Although the bass response is on the generous side, it doesn't have the effect of slowing down the action, making music ponderous. Instead, it provides a firm foundation for the explicitly voiced horn tweeter to articulate effectively.

A signature feature on the Reference Premiere series, Cerametallic™ woofers are exceptionally rigid and lightweight for minimal distortion and maximum efficiency. New aluminum shorting rings reduce distortion as well as increased power handling and the new motor structure improve transit response with more control with greater speed and accuracy. We combined Spinorama data with room acoustics and came up with Soundton. A very simple, 2D online tool that allows you to: Compared to the v1 (which I reviewed [here]), the v2 has smoother response, is about 10° to 20° wider in horizontal dispersion and only has a slightly poorer horizontal directivity.
