The EarFun Air's buds are not exactly small, but they're still comfortable. (Image credit: TechRadar) EarFun Air review: design and features Once the Charging Case’s internal battery has been fully charged, the tiny LED changes from red to green as shown above. Once in the ear, the EarFun’s design offers solid noise-isolating qualities and good levels of comfort. They’re big and bulbous, and that’s enough to plug the ear and reduce the impact of external sounds. The EarFun Air’s Charging Case can also be charged wirelessly using virtually and Qi-type charger. In the photo above, I’m using the CHOETECH Wireless Charging Pad, a product we previously reviewed here at The Gadgeteer. Full charging time for the earbuds in the Charging Case is about 1.5 hours, while the Charging Case itself can be charged via the USB-C cable in about 2 hours or via wireless charging in about 3.5 hours.

The earbuds have the ability to protect water at a level of IPX5. That means it can against water jets 12.5L/min, for example, squirt gun or sweat from exercise. So, the EarFun TW302 is good for outdoor sport and indoor sports. But can’t wear them for swimming or working out whilst hard raining. Users will be granted a noticeable partial isolation from the environment as soon as they wear them. The EarFun Air Pro 3 buds may not look special but they're a great pair of all-rounders. They bring you a good nine hours of battery life with an additional 36 from the case. There's also multipoint pairing on offer and some next-gen features that we couldn’t test yet for our review, but may soon make these buds even more special, including support for the highly-anticipatedBluetooth LE Audiotech. Their lower frequencies will grant fun and exciting listening sessions for users who like a bassy profile on their headphones. Similarly, Hootie and the Blowfish’s Only Wanna Be With You is handled with admirable timing, but the strummed banjo rhythm through the intro isn’t quite as three-dimensional as we might hope, and there’s a small loss of insight at higher frequencies. It’s not a massive sonic issue for a product at this price, but worth noting nonetheless.Hear-through and ambient modes are important to you: Though the PurePlay Z3 2.0 claims to have listening modes that give you a better feel for your surroundings, they didn’t prove very useful in our testing. We are not particularly fond on this kind of design for in-ear headphones. We usually find that the rigid and long “tail” extending down from the main earpiece, offers nothing else than a bigger-sized unit but somehow brands such as Apple with their AirPods were able to make people look after this design – and brands follow the trend. You need noise cancelling features: It’s the one area where the budget nature of the earbuds becomes clear – premium noise cancelling features are absent. The JLab Go Air Pop are an incredibly accomplished pair of buds considering how cheap they are. Connectivity was instant and reliable throughout our testing, we also liked the simple on-ear volume controls. There's a mic in each earbud for call-handling, and you'll get basic EQ profiles too – triple tap either earpiece and you’ll hear the soothing voice say “balanced’, “bass boost” or “JLab signature”.

You want class-leading sound: We enjoyed listening to music with the EarFun Air Pro 3, but it’s not at the top of the pile. Critical listeners won’t like them and will find better definition from rivals. Listening to music like Foo Fighters' All My Life sounds suitably punchy and enthusiastic. Alternatively, something like David Bowie's Under Pressure sounds suitably crisp. Every word of Eminem's My Name Is is clear and potent no matter how fast it gets. The weakness here? Trebles are a touch muddled, and nothing is quite as revolutionary as with more expensive buds – spending a little more on the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 Plus will open up more from your music, no question. During our testing, the sound presentation is well-balanced, relatively transparent, taut and full through the bass, and musically pleasing overall. Verdict The bottom of each Air TWS earbuds has two gold connector plates that work with the case to charge up the earbuds. There’s also another noise-canceling microphone that’s placed in between the two gold charging plates. As we said in our review of the Earfun Air, it’s rare that we award five stars to a pair of true wireless headphones at this ultra-low price point, since cheap rarely means good value. Simply put, it does here.

If you're all about the sound quality, look for earbuds that support hi-res audio files and low latency codecs like aptX Adaptive.Or, if you want cheap earbuds that will get your through a week's worth of commuting, you'll want to look out for long battery lives - think 25 hours and above. There's no way of tweaking anything in their sound balance, as there's no app support here. If you like to adjust your music, you'll have to use whatever EQ your music player might include (if at all). The earbuds operate on a Bluetooth 5.2 connection, and at the time of the review, that’s the latest version. The TrueWireless mirroring tech grants the opportunity to listen to audio and take calls with both earbuds or just a single one. With aptX, AAC and SBC codecs supported, the EarFun cater to both Android or iOS devices. Do you intend to workout with your earbuds? If so, you'll need buds that will stay put, so look out for interchangeable eartips and fins to hold them in place. Switching to a more sensitive melody, Elton John’s Skyline Pigeon is a similar success story. There’s the vocal on our left, the harpsichord on our right, and both merge beautifully halfway through the song, but never at the expense of the emotive lyrics.

Last but not the least, inside the buds case you will find a button that is used to start the pairing procedure. EarFun TW200 Review – Sound Keep in mind that, the earbuds come with IPX5 water-resistant, but the case does not. So be careful, keep the case away from a pool of water. Another thing important, please make dry earbuds before put in the charging case. If the wet earbuds might cause a short circuit and damage the product during charging. Transparent mode Overall, I do really like how the EarFun Air sound when it comes to listening to music or watching some shows. Microphone Quality The EarFun true wireless buds take shape of something we’re all known with: Apple’s Air Pods. This is due to the stem look that’s becoming commonplace on TWS buds. When looking at the stems you will notice Ear Fun Air has their branding towards the bottom.

What is it?

The EarFun Air's 6mm drivers do a good job with bass and overall clarity. (Image credit: TechRadar) EarFun Air review: audio performance Starting from the outside, the case is light and slim with a nice design distinguished by a subtle dip of the top surface extending down the sides in a subtle curve. There is a single diffused dot of light that comes on when you remove/replace the buds that let you know of the battery life via changes in color.
