Eventually, because of Mindy’s sporadic use of her birth control pills, she ended up pregnant. When she finally got around to try to tell Clint, bringing up marriage and children “some day”, Clint announced he was never having kids. He also said she was young and shouldn’t tie herself down with him. So she said nothing more on the ride home. Just when I thought I was going in the right of the direction of the plot, the mayhem veers off someplace else! For all the heartbreak, and infuriating stubbornness that seems to weave its way into these characters mindsets, even if they think they're doing the right thing. Gah! ( or maybe it's just me, it has been known to happen < clears throat looks away. >) There is copious of wittiness, fun banter, to downright scorching heat- I am talking~ hey, now where did that man come from... and can we have some more of that..?! Along with some pretty sage advice from a teenager here n there that makes me think maybe my teen is capable of ... NAH! Not possible! Just a good reminder of WHY I do read fiction! Ha. Can't tell you how many books by Ali Parker I've devoured over the years, but every time I see a new book from her, I just have to get it. My Father's Best Friend is another great story that isn't afraid to cross boundaries. And I love Ali Parker for that.

Really? How would you like me getting some with an thirty year old?" Not that I ever would, they would have to be extremely hot! Any usual day by the pool with your best friend and he would appear at the patio door, with a beer in his hand asking you both if you would want a drink. His eyes lingering on your body for a second more than he should. Blurring the lines of what was appropriate for a second only. I once told my dad that his best friend Wayne Fogarty tried to spice up a family christening by murdering a badger with a fence post in front of a load of kids. It wasn't true, but my father believed it without question, because that's exactly the kind of thing that Wayne might do. Their attraction is immediate and mutual, but a bit taboo considering Andrews current poor relationship with Raven. Lanie's first student counseling session is with Raven Marx...a senior with some behavioral issues which are complicated by a widowed father focused on the continued success of his company. Seems Andrew Marx had distanced his relationships due to the painful loss of his wife ten years earlier. The man might be wealthy and successful, but his heart was still hostage to her loss. When he catches sight of Lanie, something shifts...he finds himself distracted, intrigued and "on fire" for the woman! Seems his heart may be thawing. We all know him, or bits of him, and I think that's why I wrote the song. What's weird is, people tell me they can identify someone exactly like that. I'm not sure they can though. I suspect they only see glimpses of someone they recognise. The odds of them actually knowing someone who would rather fry an egg on a Travelodge iron than have dinner with his wife and her son are probably slim. This hasn't stopped people commenting on my song. I walked past a movie room, arcade, eating place,& so much other things. I didn't have all of these things, but I had some of them. I made my way to the hallway that had rooms. Honey, stop complaining, you're not a baby any more," My mom glared at me through the rear view mirror.

I accepted an ARC of this book for my review. I have to say that he title if the book didn’t really go with the story itself other than Andrew was Lanie’s dad’s friend. That didn’t play a very big role in the book in my opinion. Nonetheless, amazing as always! This story was first incredibly sweet for a mafia story. I LOVED the FMC & MMC together. While the story definitely has darkness, there’s also a lot of sweetness & care to balance it out. This is definitely one of my favorites of this series. Blakee is a Scottish mob boss and the former friend of Bonnie's dad. Bonnie and her dad lives small apartment, after the death of her mom in a hit and run accident. Her dad has taken his wife's death hard and started hanging around the wrong crowd and gambling all their money away. Bonnie needs exposure and is obsessed with finding the answers on who killed her. Her dad's final gamit was to gamble away their rent which put Bonnie in a peculiar position in leaving the apartment to go and find money. I won't give you the synopsis or take a chance on spoilers. I feel like this is an all or nothing kind of book! I hate to ruin your experience. *** Andrew is having problems with his 17 year old daughter Raven. He's been a single parent for 10 years, and has been in the typical workaholic mode for years.

Bonnie was suspicious when her father pushed her to apply for the job as a maid, but she never suspected her new boss was her dad’s ex-best friend or that she would not be able to return home, once she entered the boss’ house. When Blake made the agreement with Bonnie’s dad, he never thought his best friend’s daughter would end up being his soulmate or that she would be the reason for him to change his grumpy behaviour. Not bad writing but this is the longest boring story I have read in awhile. This is just a day to day mantra of a billionaire 45 year old man Andrew and his off and on relationship with a 28 year Guidance Counselor Lannie. She works at his 17 year old daughter Ravens High School.Throw in issues with Mindy's father, who has never learned to grow up and be a responsible, trustworthy man, and you have a dicey situation that may tear this couple apart. I am in awe of feels I still have going on since it has been several hours now since I finished reading this! What happens when he runs into him in the middle of the night during a sleepover at Randall's house? The older man shirtless and Will in only a shirt and boxers? I really liked the way Raven reacted to/with their relationship. I thought she was going to be a deal breaker in this sweet/sexy romance and am happy with the way this all turned out at the end! Is the music coming from here? Maybe someone left it on. Because I think he would've told me if someone was on this floor.
