Anyway, yours is not the only complain I read (I got to read quite a few when trying to figure out why mine wasn't working), so I guess it's a gamble. The poor little things, and the PCB got damaged, and I suppose that means I'LL have to bodge leads on for traces, but that would be good practice.

This would be for general purpose use, macbooks, smartphones, laptops, tvs, tv power supplies, 220V cables etc. When the Co-Browse window opens, give the session ID that is located in the toolbar to the representative. What is not so obvious is there is only a 5W difference in power between the Hakko FX-888D and the Hakko FX-951 handpieces. Both stations permit change the temperature, in my hakkos I set the presets when I use the first time and never touch temp again.

The T15 Series includes almost 100 varieties of tip shape and size covering any soldering or rework application. This type has a shape like a cone or column cut at a slant, which allows users to select the cut surface size depending on the workpiece. Jeez this new Haako is wwaaayyy better than I expected, I didn't realize my old iron was so weak, slow and it's tips are huge. One of the clones I bought was the same exact one he raved about, just to see how cool these magic beans were.

If you can see the band highlighted in the 2nd picture, then the tip is NOT fully inserted into the locking sleeve. For someone else, max might be your default setting; watching some Louis Rossman videos, I get impression that he leaves his at max all the time; actually seen him looking for the key to demonstrate how to change temp of his 951, and it was set and locked to 480C. Lowest temp, longest wet time, least cleaning of the tip, and minimal need to make adjustments when encountering more demanding joints. Of all the supposed advantages of putting the sensor and heater "right inside the tip," this is the one that many people heap the most praise upon. No reflow oven or hot air station yet, but wanted to get familiar with solder paste; haven’t used yet, sticking to solder wire.

Let them help you identify product alternatives, source additional technical data and find answers to your technical questions. To put these new tools to the test, took the sky-wired circuit from Building an H-Bridge from a salvaged Uninterruptible Power Supply and soldered it on a perforated RadioShack circuit board. In either case, I felt it was a good time to upgrade some of my tools for working with electronics — primarily the soldering iron, but also a few other miscellaneous parts including multimeter test leads, tweezers, knife, and solder.

I doubt you are going to get people argue against the benefits of a desoldering iron, if you are doing a large amount of desoldering it's a huge time saver. The manual says to check the tip is inserted correctly and to measure the resistance, should be 10 Ω ±. Nonetheless, even with the poor UI, hopefully adjusting temperature control should be rarely rare so it is not that big of a deal. I test my tips against a temp checker (a Hakko clone) when I remember it or I am very bore with the Job (it's an excuse to stop working).

that or I didn't have the patience to read them lol, but if you setup preset mode and program in the few temperatures that you use most then that makes the 2-button interface a lot easier to live with. When it gets down to using this solder station, it has the power to make quick and clean solder connections. When the key card is inserted, the temperature settings can be changed and when the key card is removed, the temperature settings are locked. The angle of the iron holder can be changed freely so that the iron holder accommodates soldering in both a standing and a sitting position. I can only tested in one power bar and the time perhaps was a bit less (a fraction of second) than something equivalent in the 951, but I not sure.
