In 1984, Stanton had the only art exhibit in his lifetime at the New York City nightclub, Danceteria. Book-length collections of Stanton comics have been translated into many foreign languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Dutch. Stanton colaborarou também em inúmeras publicações underground e mais tarde em revistas para adultos como Leg Show e Leg World .

This retrospective volume covers Stanton's work from the late 1940s to the 1990s, including over 500 comic strips, single illustrations, and magazine covers. During this period, Stanton came across an advertisement by Irving Klaw, New York's self-styled pin-up king, offering 'fighting girl illustrated serials' by mail. Confident he could do better, the 22-year old Stanton offered his services; his 1948 Battling Women debut began a 10-year association with Klaw. In 1997 the German publishers Taschen issued a 350-page art book covering his career, edited by photographer Eric Kroll. Ditko biographer Blake Bell, without citing sources, said, "At one time in history, Ditko denied ever touching Stanton's work, even though Stanton himself said they would each dabble in each other's art; mainly spot-inking", [17] and the introduction to one book of Stanton's work says, "Eric Stanton drew his pictures in India ink, and they were then hand-coloured by Ditko".The book has a crease in the spine (but no break), light edge wear, faint browning along the text block, and faint rubbing. The Art of Eric Stanton: for the man who knows his place' is a collection of erotic and comic art drawn by Eric Stanton, with a history of his life and work at the beginning written by Eric Kroll. While Stanton began his career as a bondage fantasy artist for Irving Klaw, the majority of his later work depicted gender role reversal and proto-feminist female dominance scenarios.

Titles, mainly from the 1950s, include: Dianna's Ordeal, Perils of Dianna, Priscilla: Queen of Escapes, Poor Pamela, Bound in Leather, Duchess of the Bastille, Bizarre Museum, Pleasure Bound, Rita's School of Discipline, Mrs. A maioria do seu trabalho posterior descreve cenários de inversão de papéis de género e de dominância feminina proto-feminista. Drawing became his passion from the age of 12, when he started copying the scantily-clad heroines in early comic books. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce. After usually being poorly rewarded and losing much of his artwork, he set himself up as his own publisher in the 1970s as an artist-for-hire to visualise the fantasies of his specialist clientele. These 4 or 5-star reviews represent the opinions of the individuals who posted them and do not reflect the views of Etsy. The British painter Allen Jones admires Stanton and his peers for their 'expressionist intensity' and 'sheer pictorial invention, draughtsmanship and humour'. These women also grew taller and stronger than men and began dominating and humiliating the men in public, including facesitting, [23] urophagia, [25] coprophagia [26] and anal and oral rape. Commissioned by Irving Klaw starting in the late 1940s, [5] his bondage fantasy chapter serials earned him underground fame.

He later shared a studio with classmate Steve Ditko, co-creator of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange for Marvel Comics in the 1960s. Damsels in combat and distress were staple ingredients of adventure comics and the pulp fiction magazines from which they evolved. Following this, he was art assistant to Boody Rogers on Sparky Watts or Babe, supplying background art and plot ideas.Stanton invented many memorable titles for Klaw, including Girls' Figure Training Academy and Madame Discipline, and scripted the occasional serial, but he mainly illustrated Klaw's and other people's stories.
