Even though this is a more visual format of storytelling, the squip has no physical manifestation in the graphic novel and I have mixed feelings about this: The next day, Jeremy heads to school with renewed confidence, wondering if he might be less invisible than before. The SQUIP delves into the inner psyche of the student body around him, giving Jeremy insight on the fears and insecurities of his fellow peers. Jeremy's SQUIP syncs itself with Rich's, instantly making them friends. Jeremy heads confidently to the play rehearsal ("Sync Up"). Christine tells Jeremy about her feelings for a guy she knows, who Jeremy initially believes is himself, but who turns out to be Jake ("A Guy That I'd Kinda Be Into"). In our original production of Be More Chill there was no ensemble—the actors who played the main characters effectively doubled as the student body, Mall Shoppers, and the neighborhood girls during “Smartphone Hour” and that worked out just fine. If you find yourself in the position of having more actors than our script has roles, feel free to add an ensemble as you see fit. End verdict: I think I (kind of) enjoyed this book because I love the musical. Had it not been for the musical, I probably would not have finished, let alone enjoyed, the book.

Be More Chill - Wikipedia

None of it has the relatable charm of More Than Survive, or the funny moments from Be More Chill (Part One), or the slow realization of Upgrade, the bone-crushing sadness of Michael In The Bathroom, the relatability of The Smartphone Hour (Rich Set A Fire) (lets be honest, we all know people like that), the creepy chill of The Pitiful Children and The Play, as well as the beautiful ending of Voices In My Head. There is also some lesson that the Squip gives him, instructing him that women and girls are attracted to pheromones. Once you get with a girl, other girls will come to you and want you. -- Again, this is terribly problematic, because it states that every girl will want to have sexual advances made towards her because of the boy's prolific history. Then the Squip gives this comment, "HOW DO YOU THINK GUYS WITH GIRLFRIENDS BECOME SO ATTRACTIVE TO OUTSIDE FEMALES THAT THEY'RE FORCED TO CHEAT WITH?" (155). Now, this is suggesting that there is justification in infidelity on the male's part because of females' "innate" attraction.Henry, Alan. "Breaking: BE MORE CHILL Will Get A London Upgrade in 2020". Broadway World . Retrieved 2019-09-30. The ending of the book reminded me very much of the ending to Stardust which I found very nice and even though I knew how it ended from my friend I was still pleasantly surprised by it.

It might even start a larger discussion afterward.” – TheaterCues.comIn the book, the Squip is developed by Sony. A device named VeriChip (a microcomputer implanted into the brain surgically) already exists, but it is impractical and the procedure to implant it "[involves] a needle large enough to dose an elephant". Although Squips surpass any previously existing CPUs, Sony planned to make it more easily accessible and compared it to an "ingestible Palm Pilot". It can also be written as SQUIP, Squip, or squip.
