After being defeated by Super Sonic, Eggman escaped in the Egg Mobile to the Chaos Energy Cannon, while Super Sonic chased him through his space armada. Its windshield is removed (but sometimes has a glass dome instead), and its seat is now yellow and is supported by a pole behind it. The Egg Mobile is featured at the Bonus Stage of the 16-bit version of Sonic Spinball, based on the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 design. The name "Eggmobile" was first used in the Sonic Boom series before being introduced in the game canon in Sonic Runners. Three notable playsets will release in Fall 2023: A level clear diorama that includes a Capsule and the first ever figurines of Flicky and Pocky, a playset of Stardust Speedway Zone Act 1, and the first ever playset of the Death Egg. The variation of the Egg Mobile that appeared during the Angel Island incident is smaller and more simplistic than earlier designs. Due to Sonic's redesign, the playset and Baby Sonic plush toy used the old designs, but the packaging was updated.

On 13 February 2019, it was revealed that Jakks would be making Sonic toys and the product line would be revealed at New York Toy Fair 2019 from 16-19 February.Later on, the Eggmobile is seen being parked on the edge of a cliff with the Screw Mobile around it at the beginning of the boss battle in Hydrocity ZoneAct 1. In Sonic Battle, the Egg Mobile is only seen during the fight against Eggman on the Death Egg's battle arena in the final story of the game.
