About this deal

I loved how much their arrival let the book show how much Hal has grown in confidence since < a href = https://sifaelizabethreads. The characters on the train are all interesting and well worth being the focus of Hal's artistic skills. This seems so much more fast paced than the previous books in the serious, perhaps because Hal is once again involved in a bit of detective work on board a train, but this time his Mum has had a premonition and it looks like it might come true. I enjoy the relationship between Hal and his Uncle and this time Hal's mum is in the story which adds another dimension to the family relationships. Even as an adult I was gripped by this tale, the last thirty pages leaving me on the edge of my seat and making an incredible showdown between them and the villain.

I love the fact that at the end of the book the authors take the time to explain which elements of their story are truth and which are fiction. The danger is much more personal this time, as Nat's identification of the assassin puts him in the crosshairs. I do think this has become my new favourite though, there is real suspense and peril and the action builds throughout.

She spent her early career in the music industry running Setanta Records, an independent record label, and managing bands, most notably The Divine Comedy. Then again, there’s another, unexpected helper, who turns up on her hunch that something is seriously wrong for Hal and his uncle. The Arctic Railway Assassin can be read as a stand-alone novel, or enjoyed as part of the award-winning Adventures on Trains series written by M.

The illustrations are gorgeous and there is so much action you can just fly through these so quickly. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you. Yet news of Morti’s Nobel Prize has kicked off a chain of troubling incidents, including thefts, ransacking and shadowing.Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. The setting is of course a train, however the descriptions of the places they go, people they see and where they are are always written so brilliantly, you barely need the wonderful illustrations this book comes with, however this book is enriched and brought to life by the artwork throughout.

With this instalment you didn’t really get that opportunity, although there were some nice twists and turns as the plot unfolded. Hopefully that was not the last installment in the series and we get to travel to Japan to visit some characters we already met in the series. When they are able to board the train is about to leave when a strange looking woman in a puffy ski jacket and bobble hat with carrier bags in her hands runs for the train. A chilly adventure through the snow and ice of one of the world’s most beautiful and desolate landscapes, The Arctic Railway Assassin is Hal’s most gripping adventure yet! There is the inevitable random friendship with another child on the train, but I think Hal may have finally met his match with this one.The wintry, Christmas-time atmosphere, the constant threat of avalanche, and amazing locations like Kungsträdgården Station and the Ice Hotel make this much more than a suspenseful, fast-paced adventure. Hal's talent for observation and art again helps them to solve the mystery of where and what the item is that the assassins are after.

As usual, I won't post any spoilers, though I will say it was a brilliant read, with twists and turns all through the journey. There are currently six books in the series but I am sure there will be more - these are brilliant stories for kids who love travel, action, a mystery to solve and an all-round brilliant adventure! Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. It’s at that point that Hal notices Katerina, who helps Hal as the danger becomes life- threatening aboard the Narvik train to the North Pole.Harrison Beck (Hal) and his uncle Nat embark on a new adventure travelling to the Arctic Circle to see the Northern Lights for Christmas. The Arctic Railway Assassin can be read as a stand-alone novel, or enjoyed as part of the Adventures on Trains series. This time the mystery involves an assassin, a weapon of unimaginable power, and a threat to the life of Harrison and and his Uncle Nat.
