I like the fact it provides a clear step-by-step structure to the assessment and examination of different body systems, with a few pages exploring key presentations and extra information to support clinical reasoning. It features all the core and specialties examinations and has a detailed list like description of all the steps you need to take to complete each examination. The exam was implemented worldwide in September 2023 with the exception of Singapore where it will commence in the first diet of 2024.

You will need details of your training and work history for the last 12 months including hospital names and addresses; dates of courses; and dates of any previous examination attempts.Often in an OSCE you will not be asked to complete the full examination of a particular body system. Station 2 used to test history taking without a physical examination – this was considered rather unrealistic and has been modified to include a physical examination. If you're trying to learn a particular examination for the first time, maybe this isn't the best book. Covers all the core examinations in high detail and gives useful background information that could come up as questions during OSCE. I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend and it is the most comprehensive, logical, and concise summary of examination technique I have found presented in a clean and legible bullet point format.

The size is great, and can fit easily into a folder or a large pocket (back in the days of the doctor's white coat it would have fit perfect). The best thing about this book is that it also has these summaries of key examination findings, and blank spaces for your own notes which make it even bettter than some of the other revision books out there. Often there are many ways of examining for the same thing in medicine; in such cases I have described either the method preferred by specialists, or where no consensus exists, the method that I find the easiest.
