The only good thing about the Casio cdp s100 is the feel of the keys and the quality of the case (good for a midi keyboard). I’m looking for something that will be fun to play and that I can learn with—and won’t seem overwhelming. Part of my hesitation at this point is deciding whether I want to use a portable slab keyboard like the S100 or the Casio 1000 or 3000 or look at pianos with stands. This uses Roland’s well-received PHA-4 Standard key action, which is used in other mid-range keyboards and has Roland’s SuperNATURAL piano modeling technology behind the piano sounds, delivering a more realistic sound to my ears. While it would be great to have wireless bluetooth audio instead, the Casio is better than the Yamaha P45 which doesn’t have any audio inputs at all.

Although those apps do provide some additional functionality, their main purpose is to make navigating the instrument easier.
