About this deal

School does not and has not ever really taught people how to live and it’s because no one teaches people how to think properly. The last chapter I could manage starts with a verse where Lao-tzu refers to the Tao as “great”, as in boundless, infinite, eternally present. I’m so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me. While it’s been continually studied for over 2,000 years, its 81 passages of text, attributed to the philosopher Laozi, contain only 5,000 Chinese characters.

But what does it tell of his intellectual integrity, respect for the readers and the source material alike, to not even seriously acknowledge that he never consults the actual text in its original form? One of the most disempowering things you can do is to tell yourself that you're just a certain way and that there's nothing you can do to change it. You don't have to be a Buddhist, Muslim or Christian to understand that this teachings apply to all of us. I mean, it is okay for us (who are not writing a book) to study and compare the Tao from the translations. Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.

I'm on my 2nd reread and when i emerge from my morning meditation a few verses of this book, a cup of coffee, some lovely music - gets my day off to a great start making me feel ever so good inside and realizing of my connection. I plan on re-reading it that way……maybe even moving it up to four days for each verse and writing out my take on it and post it here. Those that would claim 'the power of intention' as a scientific law would do well to understand that from a scientific standard - this is laughable.

How would you like to have a guidebook to follow where you can align yourself with the Universe, learn to live a simple and balanced life working for the good, and experience the greatest sense of peace you may ever imagine? You can decide every single moment how you want to live and that's in the thoughts that you're playing in your mind.Im so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me. In fact, I'd go so far to say that it is very much a negative philosophy of 'I don't believe in something', rather than asserting something to believe in. Registered address: Unit 5, Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, LE5 3EF, United kingdom.

Growing up, I felt like I was being groomed to regurgitate information, but was never taught how to be a better human. You can change your mind, transform your life, and create new habits just by entertaining new thoughts.

Finally, and mainly for my own future reference - I have bookmarked both the audio, as well as the PDF versions I have. Take this one slowly, in conjunction with the Tao, and take note of all the references he gives to other sources which can help with your understanding. Drawing from different modern interpretations, the author draws out the fundamental teachings and suggests ways in which Taoism continues to be relevant and beneficial today. He’s since gone on to author dozens of books and become a popular speaker on the subject of self-development. The "miss" part is quite a lot of long-winded, esoteric naval-gazing that starts nowhere, and ends up in the same place; minus the time it took for you to read it.
