About this deal

The height adjustment can be a bit hit and miss for fine adjustment - but I used scrap bits of wood to get the correct height. It's maybe not a 'pro' tool, but it achieves professional results and gets a hearty 5 stars from me. You can use any 1/4" shank cutter in the POF 1400ACE as long as it can be safely used within the speed range of the machine (11,000 - 28,000 rpm). It's also great if you have cut something slightly too thick and just want to take off a millimeter or two which would be very difficult with a saw.

Keeping a close eye on the job is simple thanks to an integrated work light and adapter for vacuum cleaner attachments enabling precise results. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It comes with a guide, as in the picture, which is nice and stable and allows you to quite easily line the bit up. Ideal for cutting grooves for wood joints or edge profiles, but also performing demanding routing work, such as producing special mouldings in many types of wood. ie) that unit was more expensive than this POF1400ace and was new but no better than my old Bosch 1000AE, worse actually as both bush caps are broken, the spindle lock is broken, and its is completely dead! Will do what's required of it although like any router it gives better service if mounted in a router table. So far Ive used this to make skirting board from some planks I had lying around, to put some professional looking finishes to cabinet/box things I was making, to make some nice grooves in some supports for a kitchen unit, and ( freehand) to put some grooves in a shelf which I then filled with luminous(luminescent?

I noticed in a previous review that reviewer said you couldn't use the 1200 AE in a router table because of the safety trigger mechanism (excellent feature). We will exchange or refund within the first 30 days if a manufacturers fault is found with this product.

Orange lines on the image (start of the thread) themselves are around 12mm- not to mention it gets tapered inside. I used it straight away on renovating an old wooden sailing boat, tackling some meaty lengths of wood, and it didn't flinch. I did not want to stick plastic rails to my wooden project for I didn't want "naff" so used the router to create gooves in the wood itself. Then, using a spanner in a confined space, you need to loosen/tighten the bit, similar to the way you would a drill. Looks and feels high quality and run's very smooth as well, unfortunately I have only used it for few hrs but will be loads more. People have complained about the spring being too strong making it hard to adjust the depth by hand. They differ to router / trirmmers in that the straight cut does not have to start from the edge of the material.

This is not consistent with being able to manipulate a piece of wood on the top of the table, or is it? I flicked through the manual but found it impossible to understand how various parts of the depth control work. It might be nice to get the measurements of the lowest point that the collect can get and also the width of the base plat. I have a Bosch POF 1400 ACE and I want to mount it to a ready made on router table the problem is how do you make the router stay on if mounted to the table because when I press the trigger and the button and let's go of the trigger the power just come off it stops any ideas on how to make the router stay on or am I doing something wrong here?bit need more power (1800w+) doing what I wrote above and using heave bits can cause damages to the router moreover it can fly out of the collect and cause damage to the user – not advised – get a router that already built for 12. Having said that, if I was starting out with little cash, I'd be confident in its abilities, and use it as a second router when I could afford the 'proper' stuff.
