About this deal

Unlike most other budget 25mm primes for Micro Four Thirds that are manual focus lenses, Yongnuo included AF capability and I think this sets Yongnuo apart, hence I decided to purchase this lens. With smaller sensor formats such as Micro Four Thirds, you simply shoot at larger apertures than with full-frame or APS-C cameras. We've been using a full production version of this 120 fps sports camera, to see what you gain (and, perhaps, lose). So if you’d normally use f/8 on full frame, the rule of thumb is to shoot at f/4 on Micro Four Thirds.

It is not a macro lens, but focuses close enough to be useful for flower portraits and other small subjects. Because this lens is used in high volume security applications, the pricing of the lens is very attractive. The good news is that the seven-bladed aperture delivers nicely-rounded bokeh even when stopped down to F5. Highly reliable metal mount assures durability for active use, and uses multi-coated lens elements that minimize ghosts and flare to further enhance its shooting performance. I tried street, portraiture, and landscape during my extensive test, and I enjoyed it was a pleasure to use.after a joint venture with DXOMark then don't know what happened to their relationship, lens review has less technical data. For the past few weeks, our readers have been voting on their favorite cameras and lenses released last year. All Cooke miniS4/i primes have a common fixed front diameter of 87mm, except for the 18mm which has a front diameter of 110mm. Only occasionally do they show the slightest hint of a hard edge (more noticeable as you stop down), but not enough to cause any concern.

would obviously be more useful, but in my experience, it doesn't hold up well for night photography, especially long exposures. Spherical aberration has been controlled throughout the range of focal lengths to eliminate compensation of changes in back focus with aperture. drives focus as quickly as you could hope for an ultra-wide to normal lens of this type, which is to say very quickly indeed. Covering a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 16-50mm and boasting surprisingly good macro performance, it shows great promise as a versatile, single-carry lens for landscape, street and travel photography. It does not pretend to be a premium lens, but at the same time it is not flimsy and there are no creaky or moving/rattling parts. If size and weight are your primary concern and you can live with its lesser telephoto reach, the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm F4 ASPH matches the Olympus' maximum aperture while being 5-7mm (0. You may notice ghosting when shooting directly into the sun, usually manifesting as a multiple-color haze or purple blobs. We've taken a closer look at the image quality and dynamic range impact of the move to a Stacked CMOS global shutter sensor.

But I feel that the positive payoff of this is that the lens performs brilliantly across the entire spectrum. The size, length and diameter of the "Vision" Series of cine lenses is almost the same, with the position of the focus an aperture rings is the same. PRO lens’ lavish use of special lenses and advanced performance eliminate cromatic aberration and fringing to deliver the clear, sharp photos you crave. Colour-matched to intercut with other Cooke lenses, this lens combines classic, hand-fitted construction with a linear iris, cam-style focus, and /i Technology.

It also takes an even smaller, more affordable 67mm filter size, but opts for a stepper motor-based autofocus drive. and stopping down further sees diffraction progressively reducing pixel-level crispness; personally, I’d never use an aperture smaller than f/11. This is not the case, for the lens is a half the distance to the sensor surface and captures twice as much light.
