About this deal
This Kazakhstan vodka is named after the world's first cosmonauts, two dogs who were launched into space from Baikanur in Kazakhstan. The rocket-shaped Belka-and-Strelka vodka jugs pictured were sculpted in the wake of their flight in the Russian village of Gzhel, a town outside Moscow that has been known for its folk ceramics since the early 19 th century.
It's an extremely versatile vodka that has been created in the same pioneering spirit that helped pave the way for Belka and Strelka's heroism. From the Vodka you can expect some Peppery notes at the forefront infused with hints of Citrus Lemon and an Earthy undertone. Recently-formed brand management company Ellustria is set to unveil three new expressions – a gin, vodka and a Cognac-based spirit. Drawing in consumers from both the standard and premium segments, by either being a craft product or of better value.Bottled at 40% abv, Romanov Dynasty Edition celebrates two great cultures and their interwoven history, France and Russia. Their survival was cause for celebration, Soviet pride, and a whole lot of commemorative tchotchkes, ranging from candy tins to plates to porcelain figurines.
Belka and Strelka orbited the earth 18 times aboard Sputnik 5 on 19th August 1960 before landing safely back on earth as canine heroes.
Also joining the portfolio is Il Dottore gin, inspired by Venetian doctors battling the black plague with gin-based remedies. The long connection between the Royal Navy and rum can be traced back to 1655 and Vice-Admiral William Penn's expedition to the West Indies. This Memphis recording studio launched the careers of Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. The real Belka and Strelka, preserved via taxidermy, reside at the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow. This triple distilled vodka is made in Kazakhstan with the same heroic spirit as the brave space dogs.
