This beautiful volume is the artist’s interpretation of the sacred text and its relevance for everyday life. The women exist between the realms of education and of tradition, between worldliness and parochialism. Often used as a college textbook, this book introduces the faith, beliefs and practices of Islam throughout history. I figured this list would help guide you towards investing your time and money on Islamic books in english (Most of these are originally written in Urdu/Arabic but translated in Englsih) that are concrete in knowledge, authentic and reliable.

That said, as with other Dummies guide books, this can be dipped in and out of any just about any chapter. This is not the best organized and reads less like someone who cares about the topic and more like a 6th grade textbook that lacks a lot of deeper information on the core stories and beliefs of the religion I was looking for. As suggested by the title, this book provides a piece of brief and basic information relating to Islam.
