About this deal

The former MBG 56 “Morning Flight” became home to Commander Ron Ashby and his family at Hearts Cruisers in Thorpe St Andrew, and she appeared in countless photographs over the years. They moved back from London to their home of Norfolk in 2015 when Hannah’s Mum was poorly with Alzheimers.

As a result of many years’ experience as a producer of master-craft suitable for continuous and strenuous service, GRAHAM BUNN now presents the “WIND” Boats. Lockdown was mainly awful for us, the devastating reality of a closed restaurant and all we had to do to deal with that, plus the new and unpaid jobs forced upon all parents at that time - full time teachers PLUS dinner ladies. We’d always planned for FARMYARD to be a national idea and lockdown gave us the headspace to make it happen.Bunn built three classes of motor cruiser for hire – the 38ft “Fair Wind”, the 32ft “South Wind” and the 24ft “Eddy Wind”.

Jenkins moved to the Martham area and established the Packet Furniture Company Ltd during the 1940s, producing a range of modern, utility furniture. Holidaymakers relaxing on a Broads cruiser could be disturbed by an unwelcome visitor when up from the water pops a TV licence man.

To me this seems inconceivable on one’s first day, that a junior officer would behave in such a manner and so quite unrealistic. More evidence too that our Broadland holidaymakers may have travelled to the area from north east of the country. Titled “ Watching You Watching TV on the Water“, the caption read: “ State of the art underwater tracking technology. I hope we haven't seen the last of his comedy stuff, but in the meantime, I'm delighted that we don't have to wait long for more for John Tanner, and hopefully Jenny. Here he is in charge of the Missing Persons section and immediately, on the first day, he finds himself investigating the disappearance of a woman, Jane Richardson, with DC Janny Evans.

Hannah was a TV Director and Executive Producer and therefore loves a strong visual and also to tell a decent story. As the threat of invasion began to diminish in 1943, restrictions were eased, and leisure boating resumed. Signed as Dorothy Ellis which, she explains, was her birth name, the card thanks the recipient for some “Busy Lizzy” plants which were left for Susan in the village earlier in the year. They were more two-dimensional than I wanted, and I did not connect with them in the way that I wanted to. I believe that the Brundall sub-base was based at Brooms boatyard and, interestingly, he recommends that the cruisers being used there should be requisitioned instead of continuing to hire them.

The post war period saw an increase in the building of holiday camps in the UK leading up to the “Golden Era” of British holidays, and it does appear to nod towards that traditional Butlins blueprint we became accustomed to visiting as families during the second half of the 20th century. Harry Warner had built his first camp on Hayling Island in Hampshire in 1932 and, closer to home, the Rogerson Hall camp had been opened by the Workers Travel co-operative at Corton, near Lowestoft, in 1938. Quite by chance, I discovered that fellow Tweeter Gordon Bambridge worked in junior management at Roys in the early 1960s. A 6 pdr anti tank gun is also thought to have been placed here, along with the two 25 pdr A/T guns which were located in the village itself.Broadland Aerials can help if you need a new aerial, an aerial upgrade or extra TV points around the house. When war was declared in 1939, his Broads Haven boatyard at Potter Heigham began building vessels for the Admiralty and Air Ministry. Once author David Blake moves away from building and onto what he obviously loves, the book picks up. James Nesbitt says: “It’s great to be back making a drama in and about Northern Ireland, which now has a film and television industry as good as any in the world.
