I think I was being a bit snobby thinking this was going to be fine, but nothing amazing and while it wasn't the best book I've read this year, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and Allegra's journey. I'd definitely recommend this book, and would also recommend the audiobook if people had access to it as it was a great listen. Cecelia Ahern is one of the biggest selling authors to emerge in the past fifteen years, having sold more than 25 million copies worldwide in over 50 countries. And so the rest of the book follows Allegra striving to improve her life by ensuring her five are honourable and worthy.

For most of the book, despite moments of bravado and humour, I felt the desolate sadness of Allegra.The absence of quotation marks in the writing, along with finely detailed descriptive passages, adds an intimate layer to the storytelling. You will fall in love with this young woman and she will remain with you long after you have closed this book.
