The Best of Love is the first compilation album by American singer Luther Vandross, released on October 4, 1989.

There is a lot of overlap with Best Of -- it shares no less than nine tracks with that collection -- but it also has such-'90s hits as "Don't Want to Be a Fool" and "Power of Love / Love Power. Luther's first ever solo single is also one of his best, and is still a truly fantastic disco pop song. However, it became one of Luther's best loved songs, and was first recorded by Dionne Warwick on her aforementioned album How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye.

This track was a Grammy-nominated duet between Luther and Janet Jackson, recorded for the Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis-produced soundtrack to the 1992 film, Mo' Money.

Luther Vandross produced Dionne Warwick's album of the same name in 1983, and teamed up with her for a duet on the title track. Luther Vandross' 1999 Greatest Hits may not be as generous as 1989's The Best of Luther Vandross, which contained 20 tracks on two discs, but it's a good, concise, 14-track collection that includes many of his very best songs.
