Wook Kim (December 17, 2012). "Yule Laugh, Yule Cry: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Beloved Holiday Songs (With holiday cheer in the air, TIME takes a closer look at some of the weird stories behind our favorite seasonal tunes)". TIME. – "O Tannenbaum" (p. 5)

These quotes reflect the deep emotional and symbolic connections many people have with Christmas trees, emphasizing themes of love, family, generosity, and the enchanting atmosphere of the holiday season. Let the spirit of Christmas fill your heart as the lights on the tree fill the room with a soft, gentle glow.”– Unknown Marjorie Holmes: “At Christmas, all roads lead home.”– Holmes often wrote about the warmth and comfort of home during Christmas, symbolized by the Christmas tree. My point is this. It's clearly a Christmas movie and a romance one also. So it would be nice if the bulk of the movie was one or both, with a heavy dose leaning toward the romance side. That was not even close to how it worked out.I enjoyed "Fir Crazy" because it was more than just another sappy and cheesy romantic Christmas movie. So if you enjoy Christmas movies that offers more than just your average girl dislikes boy, but has to work together for a mutual Christmas goal and ends up in love type of movie, then give "Fir Crazy" a chance.

It managed to be pretty much all of the above, indicative of me having something of a mixed view on the film (or slightly above that). It is a pleasant watch and does nothing to offend. A lot is done well here. Not much is particularly distinguished at the same time and there is not an awful lot special, so not a "head over heels in love" sort of film. While not doing anything particularly awfully, while there are flaws here other films do them a lot worse. When traveling by bus, schoolchildren in Sweden sing "En busschaufför" (Swedish for "a bus driver") or "Vår busschaufför" ("Our bus driver") to the melody. [10]Image (5 Paws) – The cover is really precious depicting the main characters meeting and growing closer. I thought the cover image was a perfect fit and really cute. Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see – The Polar Express Norman Vincent Peale: “Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.”– This quote from Peale captures the enchanting effect of the Christmas tree and holiday decorations. Soon Sarah encounters a nemesis -an elderly and unlikeable CEO of the nearby store who sees the sale of Christmas trees as a nuisance and wants to shut Sarah's business down. Also circling the tree lot is Darrin (Eric Johnson), a handsome young man who is apparently attracted to Sarah. Add a few colorful supporting characters and you have the basics for a Hallmark Christmas movie - romantic love and people being transformed by the spirit of Christmas! T.A. Barron:“The Christmas tree, twinkling with lights, had a mountain of gifts piled up beneath it, like offerings at the shrine of some indulgent god.”– From one of T.A. Barron’s works, reflecting the grandeur and generosity symbolized by the Christmas tree.

The new boss of the store whose lot Elise sells the trees from is a grinch and wants Elise and her trees out of there. Every time Elise approaches him, a calamity takes place making the boss even more irate. O Tannenbaum" by Tobias Widmaier, Populäre und traditionelle Lieder. Historisch-kritisches Liederlexikon des Deutschen Volksliedarchivs (2007) (in German) Martin Luther: “The Christmas tree is a symbol of love, not money. There’s a kind of glory to them when they’re all lit up that exceeds anything all the money in the world could buy.”– Often attributed to Martin Luther in reference to his admiration for the beauty of a Christmas tree.Sarah Lancaster (playing Elise MacReynolds) actually carried the movie phenomenally well. I can't really say the same for lead actor Eric Johnson (playing Darren Foster), as his performance was sort of bland and mediocre, and he didn't have much charisma on the screen. The movie did have Colin Mochrie (playing Gary Dixon) on the cast list, in a Scrooge-inspired role, and he nailed that with perfection and definitely added a lot to the movie with his performance. HAPPY Holidays. Tis the season to be JOLLY. It's the most WONDERFUL time of the year. Really? Fully the first 1/3rd of this movie (commercial TV screen time 41 minutes) was a total downer. One bad thing after another. Pile on Elise. And there was more of it later in the movie.

The story is the standard narrative for most of the made for TV movies that I've seen. Girl meets boy, they date, there's some confusion as to whether they should be together and then it ultimately ends up that they do get together as you would expect from any romance, but this is set at Christmas. Washington Irving: “Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.”– Washington Irving wrote extensively about the warmth and joy of Christmas, often symbolized by the gathering around the Christmas tree. The modern lyrics were written in 1824 by the Leipzig organist, teacher and composer Ernst Anschütz. A Tannenbaum is a fir tree. The lyrics do not actually refer to Christmas, or describe a decorated Christmas tree. Instead, they refer to the fir's evergreen quality as a symbol of constancy and faithfulness. [1] Garrison Keillor: “A lovely thing about Christmas is that it’s compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go through it together.”– Keillor’s writings often touch on the communal aspect of Christmas, with the tree being a central gathering point. Under the Christmas tree is not just where you find presents, but where you find the warmth of family and friends.”– UnknownThe best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.”– Burton Hills I planned out our whole day. First, we’ll make snow angels for two hours, and then we’ll go ice skating, and then we’ll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse cookie dough as fast as we can, and then to finish, we’ll snuggle – Elf
