About this deal

Although it is a guitar made for beginners, it is a full-size 41” guitar. This means it is not suitable for children. However, Donner has the DAG-1M which is a 3/4 size guitar that is perfect for children. And like the Donner guitars above, the Fender Squier Dreadnought also comes with a beginner-friendly bundle containing all the accessories you need to get started. It also has a surprisingly affordable price, which is why we believe it would make a great Donner guitar alternative. The Donner DAG-1C has a laminated Spruce top with a special x-bracing design. This allows it to enhance the resonance offered by the Spruce top, so you can barely tell that the sound comes from a laminated tonewood.

Gibson Maestro is one of the best beginner acoustic guitars on the market. It is a full-width 42” guitar made by one of the most admired and well-respected guitar producers. Its full dreadnought body features a vibrant tone and a high amount of volume. The intonation is also crucial for acoustic guitars since it is hard to readjust, especially for acoustic guitars. The DAG-1C thrives on this aspect, too. The intonation of the guitar is indeed spot on.First, some of the bad stuff. The action was too low out of the box and that caused some fret buzz and a not-so-fun time playing this axe. So I had to do a little setup before the guitar was playable. Finally, another con, a bit rough fret edges below the 11th fret I already mentioned in the “Hardware”-section. Again, this didn’t bother me too much, but it’s still something that needs to be pointed out and takes a bit out of the playability score too.

As an avid guitarist with over 15 years of experience, I often get asked for recommendations on good starter guitars. In my search for quality, budget-friendly models for beginners, the Donner brand stands out for impressive sound at an affordable price. The tuners are sealed, and it feels that they hold the tuning firmly. The nut and saddles are made out of plastic which is more than expectable from a budget guitar. They can be easily and cheaply upgraded to better material ones. The sound quality is very good. I’m happy with what I hear, but I like carbon fiber sound. Your taste may vary. Every acoustic guitar player knows that the ideal instrument doesn’t necessarily have to be the most expensive in the market. It simply has to be made with quality materials that will ensure the best standard sound possible.

MSRP: (UK) £279 / (US) $299

I had to admit that the crunch tones were the ones I least enjoyed with this Donner, but it doesn’t mean this axe sounds bad with crunch, it just was just not my favorite use for this guitar. But crunch tones of this axe are still really good for the price. Carbon Fiber Soundboard] Rising-G selected the VocalTech full carbon fiber soundboard after 79 acoustic tests. Carbon Fiber's damping is constant across the acoustic spectrum, resulting in a treble that rings with crystalline clarity to a warm bass without being muddy. It releases energy more freely during vibration, that's why it brings you a richer layering of sound and prolongs resonance. The guitar has an 18.1” (460 mm) long fretboard with dot inlays on 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th, and 17th frets. The good-looking frets were well polished and without many sharp edges out of the box.
