About this deal

Like many fans, there’s a ‘natural wind’ mode designed to mimic a real breeze. This is usually a less-than-convincing cycle through three clearly discernible speeds, but with unusually fine speed control, the Whisper Flex actually pulls it off. There’s also a Night mode that switches off the display and hushes the command beep. Infuriatingly, you can’t switch the latter off altogether. To provide the necessary stability for the floor-standing configuration, this fan’s base seems a bit large in desk fan mode. Its most notable feature is the big, round control panel and display near the front. This is clearly reminiscent of Nest thermostats, working in a similar way: turning the ring scrolls between menu items, and pressing selects one. It works well once you’re used to it, but the ring doesn’t feel particularly happy about turning. My sample had a mis-aligned and poorly fitted glass top, too. Connect this fan to your wireless network, install the Duux app, and you gain control over all its functions from a smartphone. That’s handy if you lose the supplied remote. It also comes with support for smart assistants such as Alexa, meaning you can control the fan by voice from anywhere in the world. Add in options such as Google Assistant routines, and this is a fan you can truly integrate with your other smart home equipment.

You have four different heat settings and 10 speeds. Despite its slim appearance, you can heat or cool spaces up to around 50m square. First is the money-saving aspect. Smart fans can save you a lot of money, especially if you’re currently using air conditioning, but even if you’re not and relying on conventional fans. Thirdly, the 'natural wind' mode deserves a mention of its own. It may sound trivial, but if you're sat directly in front of a fan during a heatwave, then the subtle variation in the airflow that mimics a natural breeze is far less tiring to have cooling your skin than the constant blast of a non-variable airflow. At first, the benefits of a smart fan seem relatively small, but the more you dig in, the more they seem like a really smart choice. Money-Saving

Multiple speeds and directions

Finally, a lot of smart fans let you link the app and control it from anywhere that has a Wi-Fi connection, letting you regulate the temperature of your home on the commute from work, or when you’re getting up first thing in the morning. What are bladeless fans and are they worth it? Controls are simple, using the built-in speed control on the fan, the remote control, or the app, compatible with any modern device. There are 26-speed settings, a seriously wide variety, as well as the usual variety of function modes, including night settings. That same convenience can also make smart fans perfect for the elderly, or anyone who has lowered mobility due to illness or other factors, allowing them to control the temperature in their home without unnecessary strain. Fan technology has changed a lot over the last ten years, with new designs and DC motors bringing in an era of quieter, more energy-efficient but still very powerful air-shifters. What hasn’t changed so much, however, is the way that fans are controlled and used. Buttons, switches and simple LED indicators are still very much the norm, and in an era when even light bulbs and heaters are working with apps and voice control, smart fans are few and far between.

Bladeless fans can have a lot of benefits over standard fans, including lower running costs, lower sound output, and safety aspects because of no moving parts, great if you have pets or small children. One thing I wasn't clear about from the online description of this fan is what's meant by the fact it's 'height adjustable'. I imagined you'd have full control over the height setting between the shortest 60cm and tallest 104cm settings with the ability to move the fan head up and down on a sliding scale, but this isn't the case. There’s also a timer function that lets you set a time duration between 1-12 hours after which the fan will automatically switch off; a night mode that automatically turns the LCD display off after 10 seconds for nighttime use; and a temperature function whereby the fan will measure the ambient room temperature against your desired setting and will automatically decrease its speed once the goal temperature is reached. There are 3-speed settings, a timer that can be set for up to 8 hours, and a scheduling mode, letting you set up your fan to turn on, for example, half an hour before you get home. Both of these things are great, as they mean you’re getting a powerful but unobtrusive fan that can easily sit in the corner of your room and won’t overpower conversation or late-night TV watching! Choose from 26 adjustable speeds and multiple modes. In natural wind mode, wind speeds are alternated to simulate real wind. Night mode ensures a good night\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s sleep thanks to minimal noise production and the automatically dimmed screen. Is it energy efficient? Another thing that’s easy to overlook, especially if the fan is on the cheap side is how efficient with power the fan is while running. Smart fans generally use less power than normal ones but it’s still something we look into. Best fan ever! I have a dyson fan or 400 euros but so happy I bought this. The natural fashion where it simulates wind like outside is amazing. In that fashion it will automaticfit the speed to simulate the wind outside. In this fashion you can still set the max speed which is great. Swiveling Horizontal and Vertical is completely Without Noise. It works very well but I don’t use it. I have positioned it in the middle at the foot end of the bed and both and my girlfriend Feel the air. With natural fashion on the fan and ocean sounds on google home it’s like we are lying on the beach! I don’t understand people say it’s too Expective. It’s 99 euros or 149 euros to have it with wifi so you can control with an app and Google Home. The fan is super Quiet. If I set it to a position that matches the air strength of the dyson this duux is very quiet while the dyson sound like a jet twaking off. A conventional fan chops the air which causes that vibrating sounds so typical of those fans. This fan has a double blade design which Fixes this vibrating for a large part. So Happy with this fan and for a very fair price consulting the functionality, innovation and design. Well Done Duux, hope you do well as everyone should hear about your whisper fans! Meer lezen

The height adjustment comes down to the addition or subtraction of the 'extension tube', so there are only two height options – the extension-tube-less 60cm height, that's perfect for sitting on top of a desk, bedside table, or sideboard, and the 104cm height that you can create by adding the extension tube in to turn the fan into a freestanding pedestal. If you’re looking for a big, powerful fan to cool a living room, bedroom or conservatory, this is one of the best options out there. It’s nicely designed, easy to use and capable of pushing through a lot of air. The app and voice controls are just the icing on the cake. Clean with a damp cloth, The fan cover can be easily dismantled with a screw so that the fan is also easy to clean on the inside
