About this deal

I've never been a fan of lyrical'esc writing, that with endless strains of metaphors and descriptions about a leaf or some trivial tidbit that takes up multiple paragraphs. However,

Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi - Goodreads

Mafi was born in a small Connecticut village on November 9th, 1988. She is the youngest of five siblings; her four older brothers are all male. Mafi’s parents are native Iranians. When she was 14 years old, she and her family relocated from Northern California to Orange County. Adam’s attention is being diverted to a completely unrelated matter at the same time that Omega Point is preparing to launch a full-scale assault against The Reestablishment troops in Sector 45. He has recently ended his relationship with Juliette, is extremely concerned about his closest friend, and is consistently anxious about his brother James. And just as Adam is beginning to ponder whether or not he should continue living like this, the sirens go off in the distance. Now is the time to fight our wars. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal, but The Reestablishment has plans for her. Plans to use her as a weapon. But Juliette has plans of her own. After a lifetime without freedom, she's finally discovering a strength to fight for herself—and for a future with the one boy she thought she'd lost forever. James’s voice breaks, and it’s only then that I look up. I notice the tears streaked across his cheeks. Set during and soon after the final moments of Unravel Me, Fracture Me is told from Adam's perspective. As the Omega Point rebels prepare to fight the Sector 45 soldiers, Adam's more focused on the safety of Juliette, Kenji, and his brother. The Reestablishment will do anything to crush the resistance . . . including killing everyone Adam cares about.James taps my arm. “Adam.” He taps my arm again. “Did he know where Castle was?” Another tap. “Did he say what time you guys had to leave today?” More tapping. “Adam when are y—” The story was cut down a little bit. It connected the events of books 2 and 3. Although not as intimate as Destroy Me, I did gain a profound understanding of Adam’s love for his sibling. In addition, we learned what led up to the first chapter of Ignite Me. Critics Seven years later and this is still just as awful as I remembered. This first book is a hot, boiling ass mess and I will never understand the hype of it and why people tote it as the second coming. The writing is just above tolerable but the prose is laughably bad. Terrible, cheesy dialogue, a weak main character in Juliette and to top it off we get the bland bowl of oatmeal that is Adam Kent. *snores* Thank God for the love of my life Warner and my spirit animal Kenji because they made this book. Without them this would’ve been a one star read because I genuinely don’t like it. I will say that the next two books are leaps and bounds better but damn this first one is just a dumpster fire.

Fracture Me - Tahereh Mafi

First of all I absolutely have to mention… THE COVERS. Oh my eyes. They are so so so beautiful. Hats off to whoever designed these beauties. The books are worth buying just to have such gorgeousness on my bookshelf. *swoon* Adam Kent? Is the equivalent to Tamlin the Tool. The amount of times I wanted to slap both him and Juliette- Okay, so this one surprised me the most out of this entire re-read of the series. I remember thinking that this last book was decent and I had enjoyed it enough but there was something about it this time around that I really liked. There’s a lot of character development in this and with the exception of one person (Adam, because of course it’s him) it’s very well done. It’s about Juliette tapping into her inner strength and finally becoming the person she should’ve been from the jump. Warner’s character development was honestly my favorite of the two of them because he has a lot more emotional growth and moments where we really get to see his character stripped down to it’s most basic level and it was wonderful. The two of them together bring out the best in each other without trying to change compromise who that person is as an individual and I appreciated. They grew on their own but together if that makes any sense and it makes their relationship feel very solid. This was a pretty good ending to the series but I can definitely see how Mafi left it open in the end to write more. The dramatic end to the epic dystopian narrative written by Tahereh Mafi, titled Ignite Me, is developed further in the novel Fracture Me. From Adam’s vantage point, the events of Unravel Me are continued in Fracture Me both during and shortly after they have transpired. About the Author

Honestly enjoyed this. I did think Adam went through some unnecessary butchering to get the relationships in place, but I'm quite pleased where it ended up (because I'm a fangirl at heart). Speaking of relationships, I thought it was a tad dramatic, but then you had Kenji and his comments poking fun at the drama. That was a nice touch - it showed self-awareness, and ensured that I never felt that this book took itself too seriously.

At that, I freeze, and James can feel it. He goes quiet in my arms, and I let him go. He untangles himself from my sheets, and we stare at each other. I was looking forward to some insight into Adams mind and heart, but I was disappointed that his book made him seem as empty and boring as Warner thought he was. by book 3 we get the feeling that Tahere is bored of J &W cause now she has other important thing to focus on, her POC characters Elencherò in ordire sparso tutte le cose che non mi sono piaciute (potrebbe essere una lista mooooolto lunga) e poi vediamo se rimane qualcosa di positivo da dire.forse sono cretina io, ma non ho veramente capito questa storia dei poteri di Juliette e della sua banda di amiconi. Ma da dove viene questa Energia? Cosa provoca questi particolari doni? Juliette is standing next to my table, staring at me like she might be nervous. Like we’ve never done this before.
