Description

The stainless steel cleaner from CLR cleans up dirt, grime, and fingerprints. It also adds a polished shine to make it more difficult for those unsightly spots to return. The formula is safe for large and small appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, and even range hoods. To use, just spray a small amount and polish the surface with a clean cloth.

Toasters and sandwich makers: turn off and unplug the appliance, before wiping down with a damp cloth while it's still slightly warm to remove any crumbs, oily residue and recently spilt ingredients before they solidify. Take a kitchen sponge and a small amount of warm, soapy water and firmly wipe the surface again, gently rubbing at hard-to-budge food residue.Spray your steel liberally with vinegar. Pour the vinegar in a spray bottle to lightly coat the stainless steel in vinegar. Then, spray the vinegar over the item until the item is thinly covered in vinegar. If you do not want to use a spray bottle, you can moisten a cloth in vinegar and evenly rub the item. There are many ways of polishing stainless steel, and this article describes the easiest and probably the most effective method. The two methods of polishing stainless steel described in this post involve the use of a mini-grinder and a bench grinder with 750W. Using the 3-inch sander with a woolen buffing pad, clean the stainless steel to get the final finish, which is a highly polished and reflective surface.

GHI TIP: Polish stainless steel cutlery occasionally with a proprietary stainless-steel cleaner to maintain a mirror-like finish. Wash thoroughly after polishing. Bin Vinegar is another multiuse wonder product that can be used to clean windows and bathroom tiles, de-gunk the inside of your microwave, and even spiff up stainless steel surfaces. Opt for this sizable 1-gallon jug, so you can dilute it with water and divvy it up into spray bottles for using all over the home. Bleach and other chlorine-based products should never be used on stainless steel. Anything that is abrasive can actually damage the surface. You should also take care not to use an abrasive cloth or cleaning brush, because that can also scratch and damage your shiny stainless steel. A highly reflective finish, it achieves the look for which stainless steel is best known. It works great to hide welded metal and makes cleaning easier. Polishing stainless steel to attain a mirror finish requires a wheel or at least a 320-grit belt. Gloss Finish If you live in a hard water area, use a limescale cleaner once a week. The Viakal Limescale Remover Spray is a GHI favourite. HobsThe right equipment matters when seeking a professional finish for stainless steel. It needs to maintain a constant speed, while the abrasive used requires it keep a certain coarseness to effectively polish the steel. The type and extent of the project also help determine the equipment needed. A drill or other handheld grinding tool may suffice for smaller jobs, while larger projects could require a grinder with a polishing wheel. For truly largescale polishing of stainless steel, custom machinery may be necessary for automating the process. The following are common finishes for polished stainless steel: Mill or Matte Finish Polishing stainless steel using a bench grinder is by far the most effective way. What you need to understand is that a low powered bench grinder may not give you the desired finish. You should use at least a 350W model for the work. You can also get the same formula in convenient wipes. But we won't lie—both are quite pricey, compared to other brands. If you love Therapy's eco-friendly and plant-based formula as much as we do, the shopping secret is to look for larger refills as the most economical option. We think a little bit goes a long way to both clean and polish your stainless steel surfaces.
