About this deal

See the User Manual of your computer or contact your computer manufacturer for assistance on enabling this feature. Connect the AC adapter back to your Dell Docking Station WD15 and then attach the USB-C cable to your PC. Note: Ensure that the Dell Docking Station WD15 is connected to your PC to update firmware of the docking station. NOTE: If your computer has a third-party anti-virus software running, it is suggested that you disable the anti-virus before running DCU and ensure it is not reactivated during the update process.

For help with specifications, setup, connecting an external monitor, troubleshooting common issues, and so on, see an expanding section below. Note: Do not disconnect the dock from your PC or remove the AC power from your dock during the firmware update procedure. If only one monitor is shown, while the other is not, go to the Intel Graphics Control Panel, and under Multiple Displays, select the output for the second monitor. If your laptop requires more power than the brick provides, you'll need to plug your laptop into both the wall and the dock. Your options at that point would be to either keep the XPS 15's own power source connected alongside the dock (which is perfectly fine and will NOT damage anything) or get a standard Dell 180W power supply for your WD15. Easily connect to displays, a mouse, keyboard and audio devices through the Dell Dock-180W from your compatible system of choice.

This may be due to one or more monitors supporting higher resolutions than docking station can support. To help resolve this issue - Update the BIOS to the latest version on your Dell computer from Dell Drivers and downloads page. The Dell Docking Station WD15 only works with DisplayPort over USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 protocols and is not compatible with all USB-C ports. The XPS 15 will work from that undersized power source, but you will likely see reduced battery charging speed and reduced performance as the system attempts to adapt to that undersized source. You may find that your mouse and keyboard does not work on Dell BIOS splash screens when trying to access BIOS with F2, or the One time boot menu with F12, or enter any input in preboot environments like BIOS, boot menu, or BIOS or HDD password splash screens.Find information about drivers, setting up multiple monitors and troubleshooting steps to resolve common issues. Great for presentations, the small and compact Dell Dock enables fast, efficient connectivity to multiple displays and all your everyday peripherals throughh one convenient cable. Its issue with balancing 4K monitors and lack of a USB Type-C port for adapters to use with older laptops mean that, while the dock is aiming to be future-proof, it's still a little hard to use today.

This seems like an unnecessary waste for something that should last a lot longer assuming I don’t need different port expansion. Disconnect your Dell Docking Station WD15 from the PC and remove AC adapter from the docking station. If that fails, try to replug in the audio cable to the docking station from the external speaker output. Only supplying top brands like Dell, HP, Lenovo as these are known for reliability and high performance. Update the BIOS to the latest version on your Dell Latitude computer from Dell Drivers and downloads page.

See the table below to understand how much power can the WD15 docking station provide through the USB-C cable to charge compatible laptops. I have tried the dock on two laptops (a Lenovo Thinkpad T480 and a Dell Latitude 5430) with the same results. We hooked up the WD15 to a Dell XPS 13 Gold Edition, a 1080p TV via HDMI and a 4K monitor via VGA at a resolution of 2048 x 1152.
